Job Purpose and Impact

Reporting to the Trade Execution Manager, the Trade Execution Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end transportation process, ensuring efficient execution of import and export contracts and related container shipments. Overseeing the contract management and shipment operations you will optimise container allocations & utilisation and manage last minute changes and issues. With a strong ability to multi-task and manage the short, medium- and long-term transport needs you will utilise your supplier contract knowledge and aim to keep costs minimised.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with short/medium term planning in relation to the allocation and timing of ocean freight, container availability and inventory
  • Communicate with customers on schedule of shipments for export, import and some DCT shipments
  • Work with commercial team on contract execution and communicate with packers on packing schedules
  • Monitor vessel arrivals to ensure they match bookings and contracted shipment periods
  • Maintain strong communication flow with all customers to ensure efficient sales/purchase & logistics execution
  • In collaboration with trading and marketing team, develop logistics execution strategy to improve business efficiency and develop customer solutions that generate value for Cargill
  • Monitor and communicate with CTL representative to ensure Ocean Freight market analysis is undertaken to track alignment of booked capacity versus required capacity and accrued ocean freight versus actual
  • Maintain strong relationships with Shipping Lines, manage issues as they arise to ensure rapid resolution and ensuring service levels are maintained
  • Manage the production, procurement and processing of export and import shipment related trade documentation and payment instruments and subsequent payments.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the areas of International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, ideally within agriculture or freight industries
  • Experience in international supply chains / international container or bulk shipping experience
  • Proven experience of working within a customer focused role with strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in export shipment contract terms and conditions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office with expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter – highly motivated with demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and attention to detail skills
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including after-hours customer calls
