About us The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone’s experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. About the role We have an opportunity for an individual to join us as Contract and Procurement Support Officer on an ongoing basis.
Reporting to the Senior Manager. Contracts and Procurement the Contract and Procurement Support Officer role supports the coordination of contract management and procurement activities and projects within the team. This covers the establishment and implementation of effective end-to-end procurement and contract management processes and procedures including engagement of consultants and contractors, contract administration, financial reporting, contract governance and effective stakeholder liaison.

Key Accountabilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of goods and services procurement processes, ensuring the highest levels of probity from the market that represent value for money.
- Maintaining an understanding of Victorian government procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Managing tasks and projects using project management methods in order to meet agreed timeframes and delivery of consistent outcomes.
- Building strong connections with key stakeholders, both internally and externally by providing expert advice on procurement and contract management matters.
- Supporting the Senior Procurement Officer and Senior Manager, Contracts and Procurement to oversee and quality assure procurement outputs to ensure SSP’s needs are understood and met.

About youTo be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Strong understanding and experience in all facets of best practice procurement practices, preferably in a Victorian Government context
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering services in a collaborative manner to internal and external stakeholders, in a manner that identifies opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead procurement processes, work with colleagues and enhance SSP’s procurement strategy and activities.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
