Full-Time Purchase Officer
Job Description
Randstad is on the lookout for an experienced buyer or purchasing professional to join the team of one of Victoria’s quickest growing councils located in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide efficient and effective services to stakeholders in regard to the raising, management and maintenance of all purchase orders for the organisation.
- Ensure that the procurement policy and relevant legislation is applied to all purchase order requests throughout the life cycle of the purchase order including any requests for amendments.
- Input and maintain information on the self-service procurement catalogue ensuring the items are accurate and suppliers are in a current contract with Council.
- Produce, interpret and display spend analysis data in reports.
Person Specifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a purchasing/buying/procurement role.
- Ability to cooperate with team members, clients and other staff in the department to fulfill set tasks.
- Effective verbal communication skills in order to assist with difficult and/or distressed customers and effectively escalate challenging situations to the Coordinator.
- Skills in written communication to enable the preparation of routine correspondence and reports.
